“Consistency will win us the league” – Pretoria City FC Coach

Pretoria City sit seven points behind log leaders Blue Birds FC in Soshanguve super league after they won 5-0 against Sosha Real on Thursday.

Pretoria City coach Brian Legodi has insisted that they still have a chance to win the league title this season. Pretoria City is sitting in third place on the log with 42 points in 29 games which makes them seven points behind log leaders.

In their 5-0 victory against Sosha Real Maduka scored a brace, Mfundo, Katlego and Zuma also scored. Legodi said, “On the chance of winning the league, it is still possible for us to win the league if we can be consistent. Number one is leading us with seven points and number two with five, bear in mind that we still have games to play against number one and number two, anything can happen.”

In the game they played before beating Sosha Real they suffered a 3-1 defeat against Madiba Cosmos Fc. Pretoria City still have to play against Nkadimeng who sits on the second spot and log leaders Blue Birds FC to better their chances of winning the league.

Pretoria City captain Tshepo Setshedi is convinced that if they can make sure that they win away games, winning league won’t be a problem for them. “We need that confidence and positive mentality especially in our away games, so far our home record is great.”

“I believe we can win this league our biggest rivals are Nkadimeng because we lost to them on first leg, and we will be underdogs when we play against them. With Blue birds we manage to win against them in first leg. We must beat both of them in order for us to have better chances to win the league.” said Pretoria City player Katlego Mokaba.

Pretoria City will welcome Blue Birds on Sunday for their second-round league clash.
