Prominent TikToker says NSFAS allowance is defective
University of the Witwatersrand student, Gift Kelton Bozekani who is well-known on TikTok for his short videos which are more pedestal on student vibes. Gitf on his recent video requested journalist to write about NSFAS allowance which he believes is not sufficient for students. Gift on his reasons for increase in allowance for students mentioned costs of food (grocery). Food prices increase now and then but student allowance hasn't so far which make lives of students more difficult. Take for example the cost of cooking oil is on another level, but student allowance is not considered for increasement. The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has not officially made a statement about a possible increase in NSFAS allowance for 2023.
